“Are You Brave Enough to Fill These Boots?”

The Riverton Fire Department is always looking for a few good men and women (ages 18 and older) to join us in a rewarding career. The Riverton Fire Department is an all volunteer organization, which is staffed by men and women from all walks of life. These men and women once stood in your shoes, debating whether or not to take that next step and volunteer.  Ask yourself these simple questions …. are you someone who enjoys giving back to your community, solving problems, and/or helping those in need?  If you answered “yes” to any of these questions your one step closer to "Filling These Boots".

The next step is to download and complete an "Application for Volunteer Firefighter" and drop it off at the firehouse on a Thursday night or mail it to 505 Howard St. By doing such, you will be afforded the opportunity to become a member of a winning team, one which is willing to help their neighbors in the event of an emergency, while getting to use state of the art equipment on a variety of responses. If we didn’t volunteer who would answer the call for help?

It’s important to understand that interested men and women will need to meet certain medical and physical requirements and be willing to complete a basic firefighter training course, paid by the fire department. After the successful completion of your training, you will be issued gear and will be able to respond….. maybe one day save a life.

We also accept applications for our Junior Firefighter Program (ages 15 to18).  As a Junior Firefighter you will be able to participate in fire department drills, respond to calls and participate in fire ground operations within the Borough of Riverton. Go ahead ….. "Fill These Boots!"
